Born and raised in Fowler, a small, rural community in Ohio, Frederick Yungbluth Jr. comes from a proud blue-collar family that instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and service to others. As the region transitioned from bustling steel mills to the dormant rustbelt, he witnessed firsthand the struggles and triumphs of working families—experiences that shaped his commitment to advocating for fair wages, job security, and workers' rights.
From an early age, Frederick Yungbluth Jr. embraced leadership and service through the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. A lifelong member of the Fowler United Methodist Church, he was actively involved in the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF), where he deepened his sense of faith, compassion, and commitment to helping others. His father, a lifelong volunteer firefighter, taught him the importance of serving his community and always putting the common good above personal convenience. Whether it was answering calls in the middle of the night or sacrificing time with family to help others in need, his father’s example instilled in him a deep sense of duty, selflessness, and the understanding that true leadership means doing what is necessary—not just what is easy.
Service has always been at the core of Frederick Yungbluth’s life. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a volunteer firefighter and EMT shortly after graduating from high school, dedicating countless hours to helping his community in times of crisis. Wanting to expand his impact, he transitioned into emergency dispatching, first working as a 911 operator for Trumbull County E-Dispatch. His passion for emergency services led him to earn an associate degree and become a paramedic before moving to Portland, Oregon, where he joined the Clackamas County dispatching service. His career in public safety has reinforced his belief in teamwork, accountability, and the need to support those who serve others..
